The best veggie burger in Cambridge

The Cambridge Foodie is mainly a vegetarian. I have nothing against eating reasonable quantities of ethically produced meat and I love fish and am trying my best to eat only ethical fish too. But my greatest food passions are vegetables and cake. But not together - I dislike carrot cake and roll my eyes at the very idea of courgette cake.

Anyway.................In my humble opinion the best veggie burger in Cambridge is the the red leicester and spinach burger from the Boathouse pub. It's divine; all crispy and deep fried on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside. Served in a chewy white bun the way burgers should be. The chips are nothing special (undoubtedly frozen) but it comes with a creamy coleslaw that was very pleasing.
The Boathouse is a fairly ordinary pub, rendered more special by its scenic terraces overlooking the Cam and the exceptionally friendly staff. On a summer evening there is nothing better than a pint of cider and a red leicester and spinach burger at the table at the bottom, right next to the river.

The Sea Tree

Since the Sea Tree opened last year I haven't had fish and chips from anywhere else. I always have haddock and chips and it is always flawless.
Sometimes I have the mushy peas; suitably lurid in colour. They are mostly flawless too - last time the peas were more whole than mushed, but that was only once.
Basically, I'm a fan.
